Old News: Blair in proposing-to-do-his-job shock

While reading about The West Wing, I was reminded of this marvellous story and its follow-up.

Gosh. Imagine the shock that must have echoed around Westminster at the thought of the Honourable Member for Sedgefield actually, y'know, turning up to do the job he was elected and paid to do.

I don't know whether Blair DID in fact turn up to vote more often after his dereliction of duty cost his government a bill. I rather doubt it. After all, this is the guy who resigned his seat (giving his constituents the metaphorical finger) the day he was binned as Prime Minister so he'd have more time to spend making money without distractions such as constituents and Parliament.
